The fall is such a wonderful time in Utah! We celebrated the beauty of the changing seasons with these fun events...
Getting to know more about Operation Underground Railroad...the most incredible organization. We were grateful to be able to help in a small way.
Attending our city's Fall Festival and Monster Dash. When we drove up to the crowded festivities, Pierce exclaimed, "Oh, I am so excited. This is going to be so much fun." I realized we need to make an effort to do more "little boy" stuff with him! It was so great to have Jenni and Jed join us! Such a great gift to have them close to us for the first time!
Parker ran in the 5K race and came in 7th for boys under 15...pretty awesome!
Scarecrow Making...
A little football watching in the backyard...how cool is this set up?
I was the chaperone on James's wildlife field trip. Love these squirrely boys.
Over fall break, Chaz came back to visit us. It was so fun having 5 boys again!
We decided to explore our own city one afternoon, and Mike joined us and made it even more fun!
We saw the new exhibits at the church history museum...cool, but the place was packed. I would love to go back another time when we have more time and space.
Went to the temple...
Took a rigorous walk to Memory Grove where we played football in the sunshine and enjoyed the vibrant colors. It was a gorgeously perfect day.
We hiked up to the capitol where the view was spectacular.
Then started our VERY long walk to the TRAX stop so we could take that up to the U of U campus, then take another VERY long walk to The Pie. After each child asked us 76 times "How much farther?" and I asked Mike at least 6 times, "How much farther?" we made it! Good thing Mike was with us...we would have all given up and eaten Subway!
Other day, we invited the Gines up to enjoy Scary Hill with us! They loved it, just like we do.
For our last hurrah over fall break, we headed up to Kamas, where we ate burgers and shakes together, then went swimming at the Kamas Rec Center. It turned out to be the perfect activity. We enjoyed the scenery all the way up and down the canyon. So lucky to live in such a beautiful place!
One item that took up A LOT of time during October was helping the Junior High turn their school into a haunted house. It was hours and hours of work, but it turned out pretty spooky! It helps the school raise a lot of money for some underfunded programs.
Since Mike and I would be missing Halloween because of our wedding in Georgia, we had to party it up before hand. This little guy was SO excited about being Spiderman!
Best Sunbeam teacher ever! Serious patience that Sister Bown.
Pierce's first trip to Jungle Jim's for Maddie's birthday...a success!
