Life's a Beach

We headed to Cali for a 10 day trip and family reunion. It was so fun to see the kids together again and the adults loved their time together too.

We spent HOURS and DAYS in the pool. It was the best...we did lots of swimming, hot tubbing, and diving. The parents liked being in the wateras much as the kiddos.

These boys are my favorite to watch! They really are just big kids.

The bike ride around Mission Bay was one of the highlights of the trip. So fun to have so many big kids now! Especially loved the intense racing competition between Jace, Chaz and Parker. We couldn't keep up.

The Wild Animal Park was HOT but fun. The train through "Africa" was the best part and it was great to have the whole family together.

One of the kid favorites was our outdoor movie night, on a big screen and projector complete with concessions.

Lost teeth already? Parker lost 2 teeth in California...he loved being the star of the show for a moment and couldn't wait for the tooth fairy to bring him his goods.

We LOVE the beach and so do the kids. Everytime we go, we can barely tear them away. The only bummer? The sand that stays with you for way too long.

We had a fun cowgirl birthday party for Lexi. She is such a darling little 2 year old.

There was also a little music this time...they loved playing some literal garage band.

One of the most surprisingly fun things, was the little river at the park by the Romney's house. It had crawfish (or lobsters as the kids claimed). We spent lots of hours catching them!

I'm always surprised by how much kids love Chuck-E-Cheese. They had a blast on our last night there then swam, ate s'mores, and watched movies to celebrate their fun week together. Cousins are the best!

Cassy and I spent lots of hours together and had a GREAT time getting to know each other even better. She's a great mom, aunt and sister-in-law.

Grammy

When we are in Utah, we love to see Grammy Romney. She is 96 and still beautiful, gracious and strong. We are so grateful to have so many loving grandparents and great-grandparents in our life. The darling engaged couple, Bryce and Lora! Can't wait for the wedding.

Fun with Dad

This post is a bit out of order, but we couldn't forget how happy we all were to have Mike join us for the 4th of July weekend. We all missed him so much and life just feels complete with him with us.
We saw Toy Story 3 in 3D. The kids liked it (except James), and I realized that since I couldn't wait for it to be over, I must really not like kids' movies since the rest of the world seemed to love it. But, it was great to all be together.

Then we headed to the Children's museum and they showed Mike what they loved so much about it.

Snowbird

One of our favorite spots in Utah is Snowbird (with an all day pass, best deal around). Our little family headed up together and hiked, ran the Alpine Slide, ate, swam and loved every minute. We even had a little sleepover the kids were crazy about in a condo (I was less crazy about it since James was up all night with an ear infection). But they were great memories for all!

Fish Lake 2010

We had an absolutely gorgeous 24th of July weekend in Fish Lake. I'm so glad I've been able to share this little piece of heaven with my children. It has always held so many great memories for me and now, same for them. There isn't too much going on up there, but we loved fishing, hiking, eating and play TONS of games. So happy Grandpa Olsen bought the place in 1978. We loved having them there with us.

This is the 1st fish our family has caught in...oh...11 years. It was a BIG deal.

Here's my dad gutting it. He made the fish sing "Elvira" to my boys, just like he used to do with us.

Parker found a walking stick he loved. He is a great little walker.

James is fantastic at amusing himself. He found bubbles and remembered how much he enjoys them.

Fish Lake really is just a gorgeous place.

I loved spending the relaxing weekend with my boys, parents, and grandparents. 4 generations all under one roof, learning from and loving eachother.
