San Diego Part 2

The week was full of more fun things (post 3 to come, but the photos are on Mike's laptop).

Shaving Cream Cheeto Toss. Fun but messy.

Nights filling out the Camp Cousin books so they could earn "money" for the "concession stand" on movie night.

 Creek explorations.

Fun with Fitness. A little B-ball (I decided not to play since I was so much better than the others :)

And Bryce's Crossfit workout. The kids loved it and worked really hard! I was impressed.

Two little spectators. Won't be long until they are in on the fun.

The kids loved making their own cars for the Grand Prix Drive-In Movie.

Our little cousin train.

Food delivered to their car, what service!

They visited the concession stand and munched on too much candy while watching Cars 3.

We spent a LOT of time in the pool and loved every second of it. The dads and uncles were a big attraction...Uncle Jed won the prize for coolest uncle in the pool...you can see why.

We loved having Mike around in the evenings after he worked. There are some bonuses to a traveling job.

Jace learned how to do a backflip. Pretty cool.

San Diego Part 1

After our 2 weeks in Utah, we jumped on a flight to Cali to spend a week at Camp Cousins with the Romneys. We were so excited to go that we forgot Jace's backpack full of all our electronics. Luckily, we made it without too much hubbub on the ride there. My second flight alone with all 4 kids. I felt like a 4 ring circus walking through the airport. Lots of looks my way: shock, pride, pity, awe, paranoia...you name it, I got it. And the most asked question, "Wow. 4 boys? Are they all yours?"

But, we made it!!

We started the trip with a crazy Costco stock up. Feeding 20 is a big job that takes A LOT of food. Do not sign me up for 14 more kids.

Jenni and Marci could win a spacial relations challenge any day.

Our Digs
We got to stay in the Winnie the Pooh room and Pierce was enamored by all the animals on the walls and dressers and got so excited every time we walked in, but there was nothing he loved more than himself! Gotta love a little Baby Love

Cousins!!
Jenni and her kids were there when we arrived and it was especially fun to see Weston for the first time! It's horrible to live so far away from each other. Weston and Pierce are only 1 month apart, but Weston already has quite a few inches and lbs. on Pierce and loved stealing his food. Hopefully we are nearing a growth spurt. Can't wait for them to become buddies.

Snails!
With a beautiful yard full of flowers to eat, there are lots of snails to find and Papa loved having the boys there to help him collect them. Gross!

Volleyball
The Romneys yard is a dream come true, not only for snails, but for little and big kids. We had a blast this year playing lots of family volleyball. It's so fun that the kids are growing up and we are all enjoying activities together.

Pool Par-tay
We all got a special treat on Saturday when the Hansens came for a day visit. The Romneys and the Hansens have been besties since all the kiddos were little. Now those little kiddos are big kiddos and have littles of their own. We missed having Ty and Seth there with us though.. It was great to reconnect with them and spend a bit of a gloomy day submerged in all things wet and festive

We officially began the party with a 2 team ball race. Each team had to gather the most balls from the pool in their own bucket.

WINNERS!

We then played a make your own raft relay game. It was great fun.

Guess who won?

Then we had a push the rubber ducks with your nose race that was just as competitive...and a fun ball toss game for the littler kids.

We spent a short time relaxing in the hot tub...

and a LOT of time cooking (but those potatoes were totally worth it, thanks Jenni and Jed).

We tried our bats at a pinata that refused to crack.

And had a dual family photo shoot...

We snapped a few extra pics here and there...

And ended the day VERY sweetly.

Thanks for coming to visit us, Hansens. What a party!

Happy Birthday to Me!
I turned 33 in San Diego and it was so fun to celebrate with family. To celebrate Bryce's and my birthday, Rick and Marci took the family out to Ruth's Chris and then we headed to DQ for a birthday cone. My actual birthday was on Sunday, but Mike picked up my favorite blizzard cake and the whole family sang and wished me a happy day. The little boys all made me cute cards and Shaina and Olivia wrote a song for me.

As long as I celebrate with this guy, nothing else matters...plus he got me an iPhone :)

These boys were so sweet and wanted to make my birthday so special. I just love them to pieces.

The only way to celebrate :)

The Play
It was such a delight to watch the cousins play together. They are all such bright, interesting and good kids. I feel so lucky that my kids get them as cousins. This year, in honor of my birthday :), they put on a wonderful play for all of us loosely based on The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. They all helped write it and were so creative and cute and performed it on Mimi's "stage." I loved every minute of it.

these little ones can't wait to get in on the action!

Lots more fun to come!
