Utah had the perfect cool down on Friday, so we went to the zoo. It was the greatest day. The kids were all wonderful, and we had 4 adults on 5 kids, so it was a pretty easy. The Hogle Zoo is just the right size for our little munchkins.
They loved all the animals--James especially liked the penguins and monkeys and Jace loved the bird show and thanked Heavenly Father for it in his prayers that night. Parkie liked it all but was insistent on talking to the baby giraffe. I actually thought it was pretty cool too, and I'm not much of an animal lover.
The highlight of the day though, Cheetos and ice cream cones. As I was wondering why it's always about the junk food, I remembered that from the time I was about 6 until I was 16 everytime I saw the first star in the sky or went over a railroad track I wished that my world would be made of candy (think Charlie and the Chocolate Factory or the Skittles commercial), so I really can't blame them; we'll just need a sugar detox when we go home.
