My baby is ONE!!! I can't believe how fast this year has gone, and I'm tearing up a bit, because he is the sweetest little boy. My other boys were tough for the first year, but James has been a dream. He smiles and laughs and loves like I've never seen. It has been such a joy being his mom.
He is excited by people and adores his older brothers. He could play with balls all day long. He is happiest when he is outside. He is starting to walk (8 steps today!!) and says a bunch of funny words--ball, hi, dad, mom, night night, kitty, more, no, ... the list goes on. Whenever Mike comes home he waves his little arms non-stop and says, "Hi dad!" over and over again. He is a little chatter and says unintelligble words that he expects me to understand. I wish I did. I would love to know what his little mind is thinking. It's hard not to smile when he is around. And the chunkiness everywhere and a three tooth smile; you just can't beat it. It's so hard to express how a mom loves her baby--but I guess that's why I want more; I never expected that being this selfless could feel so good. My kids are incredible.
For his 1st birthday (and Jace's last soccer game) Mimi and Papa came into town. It was so good to have them here. We just took it easy, but the kids had such a blast and couldn't get enough of them. They played all day for a couple days and enjoyed all the extra attention. We are so lucky to have them close enough to visit. Mimi made it a great birthday and brought a super fun Thomas ride on toy and jersey for him. My parents sent a cute little people Thanksgiving set that the big boys have swiped. Then we ate cupcakes (James had to be talked into trying it, but got the hang of it) and ice cream which he loves!

Truley the cutest little pudgy baby ever, and I say that so very lovingly!
I love that he dove in head first into the cupcake! Looks like he's all boy. Birthdays for babies are the best! Happy #1 to your littlest man.
Is that bright red frosting I see on that cupcake? Brilliant! Love it.
Happy Birthday James! I love the first year but I also think it only gets better!
He is totally an Olsen! (Sorry Mike!) Happy Birthday to James!
I can't believe he is one. Actually I can believe it. If only he were 2 you could have come to Hawaii with us! I think it's time to start working on number 4. I think you have had enough of a break. Just think of the the bonus that comes with the veins!!
by the way...I love your father-in-law's shirt.
Happy Birthday James! I can't believe he's already one! Time sure does go by fast! He seems like such a sweet little guy! Wish you lived closer!
Red frosting? You're BRAVE! Such a darling little boy with his spiky hair. I, too, can't believe he's already one!
And I agree with Lyric...what's with Rick's shirt?:)
you guys are all so cute!
Ezie loves that Thomas the train toy. He can't wait to come to Arizona so he can play on it. I can't believe my little Eskimo baby is one. We are so excited to see him. He is starting to look like an Eskimo version of Jace, don't you think.
