Before the BYU football season started, we got a package from Provo with new blue and white T-shirts for the whole family that say something like, "Fully invested." Mike dutifully wears his every Saturday, along with his BYU hat and dresses the boys in theirs and begs me to put mine on, but I just can't do it--oversized sports Ts just aren't my thing; maybe when they play the U. Anyway, I tell this so you understand that Mike is into BYU football, and will be a totally embarassing teenage dad.
I left while they were watching the game on Saturday. When I came home, Mike ran to the store and my boys were playing football downstairs. Everytime one of them missed the other would say, "Catch the Freakin' Ball," in a horribly mean voice. I told them that it was not a nice thing to say. Jace of course responds, "Well, dad does." I told him that it wasn't nice when dad said it either and dad would need to work on it. Jace understood and stopped saying it, but Parker continued a few more times. I got more stern and he started saying, "Mom, we don't say Catch the freakin ball, huh?" (Picture this with his accent). I finally said, "Parker, I do not want to hear you say that one more time, or you'll go do your room." He then said, "Mom." and proceeded to mouth, "Catch the freakin' ball." I laughed out loud. He is so quietly naughty it kills me.
I think I might need to have them with me during the next BYU game.

I love it. I'm laughing out loud. Yeah, if you find a good way to discipline my kids for things that their dad taught them I would love to hear it. :)
That is hilarious! All of it! I'm always telling my Mike he's so going to regret some of the things he lets slip out of his mouth in front of our daughter.

I love it. Just cut the kids some slack, so they can continue to entertain the rest of us. Also, wear your freakin' shirt...and blog it! Actually, that is a great idea for family picture attire. Wouldn't Cougar colors go with avocado green?

Hilarious!!! Stinkin cute!!! Nothin cuter than boys & their dad watchin sports together and letin it all out!!! I think it is time for Mom to take one for the team & wear the shirt with the rest of the fam!!
Ok I have to tell you about Carter at the swimming pool a few weeks ago. We had just got to the pool and I was laying my towel and chair and other stuff out, and my umberella falls over. Carter sayd "Mom, What the he**!" I dropped my jaw, and as stern as my giggles would allow(I can not believe I was laughing.)asked where he heard that and he said "Dad says it all the time when he is watching football, why is that bad or something?" All of the other moms where looking at me with total disgust.
Tell Mike that maybe he should re-think this whole cougar thing. Your boys wouldn't have learned such language if the BYU football receivers could actually catch the ball. Just Kidding! But really, Bentley's favorite thing to say when we watch football is "GOOOO UTES!"
