I'm Quitting!

Well, while Mike and Jace were gone, Parker and James decided to get as sick as they have ever been. Both ended up with horrid double ear infections, colds, pink-eye, red throats, coughs, you name it, they got it. It was 4 days all alone, up every hour in the night, cooped up with crying kids who both wanted a mom and a replay of Boots singing, "I speak Spanish..." I took the kids to the doctor Friday night and they both fell asleep so I couldn't pick up their prescription. I called a good friend crying (which I almost never do) and she rescued me and got the much needed medication for us. Mike was supposed to be home early Sunday, but their first flight was late, they missed the second one, and couldn't catch another flight. I thought I might break down. He and Jace ended up driving from LA and made it home just in time to get in bed. Lucky for me, Sally took pity on us and exposed her kids to our yuck in order to get me out of the house on Sunday! The rest of the week wasn't much better, so on Thursday, I told Mike I was quitting my "mom gig."
Mike has always said that he wants me to love what I am doing, so on Friday h surprised me by coming home early and sent me to a great spa called Dolce. He was in charge of the kids most of the weekend and let me catch up on some much needed sleep. Now, it's Sunday night, I feel rested, rejuvenated and ready to punch back in tomorrow morning (who am I kidding, I'm sure someone will be up tonight!).

that is terrible Brooke! But gosh it sounds like my life without the spa day. :) I keep wondering if we, as parents, will actually sleep through the night ever again? It seems like such a long lost dream that maybe we ever did.....

Oh my gosh! That sounds horrible! I'm so sorry for you and your little men! I'm glad you had friends around to rescue you. And I'm glad you have a sweet husband who looks out for your well-being -- that spa sounds awesome (and nice job on the pic!). Hopefully this next week is a fun, sick-free one!

Oh no! I guess the only bright side is that is was you that was able to take care of your boys and not somebody else. Mommyhood is kind of a mixed blessing that way. How good is your hubby to treat you to a spa day? Gooooo Mike!

Brooke- that story scared me! That is my worst nightmare! Having your hubby gone and 2 sick kids. Hey, I can handle one sick kid *(Barely!!)* but two?
I'd quit too. Mike is such a sweetheart to plan a spa day for you. You deserve it girl!
