Hello Summer 2014!

This school year flew by! I was stuck in March and all of a sudden it was the end of May and school was out! We have enjoyed every second in our new home and have loved finding new places to explore and new adventures to have. The summer has already brought all kinds of fun. I love being a mom to a husband who is so adventurous and 4 boys who are always up for a good time. Here is a little bit of our May/June.

We took a crazy drive and a few small hikes up the mountains in our backyard over Memorial Day weekend. Mike's driving along the narrow, winding roads was a bit much for Jace and me, but the scenery and trails were worth it. We live in such a beautiful place!

These 4 create fun everywhere we go. There was always some type of sword fight or army march happening. Love it.

The view...pretty spectacular!

A highlight: the rattlesnake! A real one! We saw him as we drove down the canyon an stopped to watch him get mad. Pretty cool.

The "treasures" the boys found.

The soccer season came to an end and our boys took 2nd in their tournament. Parker loved playing for Trent and we loved getting to know the Patricks! Sports are the best for getting to know new families and making great friends!

Jace had an end of the year program about America that was really great! He was a dancer and loved his part.

Parker earned his Wolf by the skin of his teeth...phew!

We had the last day of school...here are pictures from the last day and the first day. What a difference a year makes!

James had a great year in the PALS program with Mrs. Qualls! So happy to get her again next year!

We totally lucked out with Mrs. Turnbow! She was fantastic!

All of the boys played baseball this spring too and did really well! I love watching them play! Such great little athletes!

We had a blast taking the boys to a Peter Brienholt concert. The blast from the past was fantastic for us and they boys loved running around on the grass and dancing to the music. The best part was dancing as a family together and the perfect night. Loved having the Fulks with us...Pierce and Emmi are the greatest.

This little one kills me on a regular basis. I walked downstairs to find him drinking ice cream...no help necessary.

There is nothing better than summer nights in Utah. We moved into the perfect neighborhood where night games happen on a regular basis and the kids have a blast together. We love sitting and watching all the action from our awesome front porch. Thankful everyday that we found such a great spot.

We try to keep the kids academically motivated during the summer with a few different things. James has a mind that is really amazing...within 3 days he had already memorized all the states. Jace is working on all the countries and Parker is almost done with the states too.

We are loving our outdoor family time...except that it constantly reminds me that I am NOT athletic. I get out first almost every time in every game. Good thing I don't mind cheering on the side. Loving our backyard this year!

I relented and let the boys build a fort. They loved it.

We took a grueling and gorgeous hike up Adams Canyon to a waterfall. It was HARD but we all made it...Mike even had Pierce on his shoulders. Love that I married a man who can do that! We were missing Parker because he was at Scout Day Camp. On the way there Jace said, "I don't like Parker being gone. It keeps feeling like we are missing someone and we really need him in our family." Kind of a sweet moment.

We are also loving a little extra time to spend with cousins!! They are the best!

Parker loved trying out Grandma and Grandpa's bicycle built for two. He made Grandpa go way further than he wanted to on a Sunday evening.

There have been plenty of creative ways to spend time. This was a particular favorite...fishing for Pierce. Shocking, but it didn't end well :).
