Mimi and Papa Come for a Visit

Have we been able to express how much we love living close to family? We get to see everyone so much more and I love the way it has strengthened my kids relationships with the ones they love most. We were so happy that Mimi and Papa came for a February visit!

We spent day one celebrating Jace's birthday. We started with a greasy breakfast at Sil's and Jace opened a iTunes gift card. Lucky guy!

After breakfast, he chose to play games at Chuck E. Cheese. Not a bad activity if you don't have to eat there ;).

It was Piercey's first time and can I say we have a fan?

After the party, we went bed shopping and Mimi and Papa got Jace a new bed for his birthday! No more sleeping on a mattress on the floor. He is loving it!

We even worked in a little time for hallway basketball before bed.

On Sunday after church Mike shared his family history bug with all of us and we went to look for the headstones of Marci's grandparents in Ogden. Amazingly, we found both sets!!

I don't know why, but this picture refuses to turn!

Papa was ready to get back into the car :).

Jace challenged Papa to a constitution bowl. He has been working so hard on his 90 constitution questions. He was so happy to be declared the winner.

On Monday we celebrated Mike's birthday! He chose to take the boys skiing for their very first time. The were IN LOVE! They took a lesson for the first two hours of the day while Rick, Mike and Bryce took the opportunity to ski like grown-ups. After the boys were done, they were ready to tear it up. The were fearless and loved every second on the mountain. The old guys had to beg them to come home.

Hooray that uncle Bryce was there to capture a few snapshots of the day!

At the end of their fist day skiing, they all went down a black diamond. Crazy, and scary and totally typical of these 3!

While the boys were away, the girls and babies (me, Marci, Lora, Pierce, and Tagg) did some serious shopping! Marci was so amazing to help me try and finish parts of my house. She had awesome ideas and was laser focused on getting things done. She even stayed an extra day to help me finish things up. I can't believe all she motivated me to accomplish! Hooray!

Luckily Pierce was a trooper. Two days and lots of hours in the car is A LOT!

On Monday night we went to dinner as adults to celebrate Mike...wish I would have taken a photo! It was an awesome weekend and we loved every minute! Thanks for spoiling us Mimi and Papa!
