February Fun

February is always an incredibly busy month for us! We played a LOT of basketball but didn't get many pictures of it. The boys all did great and learned a lot. Jace ended up making a travel team which has been awesome. They push him to be better and we love it.

We got to attend a Weber State basketball game on the front row with our good friends, the Patricks. The boys enjoyed the game, but the food is really the highlight ;).

We celebrated the best guy around. Mike really is our rock and just makes our family work. He works SO hard, keeps such long hours, and still manages to love us all to pieces. I admire him so much for so many things, but one of the greatest is that he wakes up at the crack of dawn every morning so he can have 30-60 minutes to study his scriptures and the gospel. Blows me away. He is so awesome.

He requested a low key birthday dinner on Sunday and he wanted Salmon, rice and asparagus. Easy for me too!

We made him a German Chocolate cake that was a total fail. The frosting was delish, but I did a homemade cake and tried to stack it. I didn't cook it long enough and it was all gooey in the wrong kind of way, but he ate it with a smile.

On Monday (his actual birthday) we met him for lunch. He loved having company :).

and we decorated the house with 37 reasons we love him! We could have written 37 more!

This boy is darling, but he is killing us. Being the youngest of much older brothers can be good and bad. Lately, we cannot stop him from saying naughty things, especially, "butt crack," which I don't even allow the big boys to say, so how he slipped that into his everyday talk I will never know! This particular day he was in the tub and said, "Hey mom, I didn't say 'butt crack.'" Sometimes you just have to laugh!

We celebrated Valentine's Day as a family with love notes for each of the boys and heart waffles for breakfast!

Jace decided to be brave and take a rose to the girl in his grade he thinks is cute. It was a bit of a win and a bit of a fail. He snuck the rose into her desk before school, but the teacher (a different classroom) announced who gave it to her. He was super embarrassed and was teased a bit and there were a few tears after school, but on the upside, the girl (Miley) thought it was sweet and gave him a thank you note the next day. Overall he was glad he did it, and I thought it was brave and kind. The good news is, he has a new crush basically every week so nothing gets too serious. So crazy that he is getting so old!

Pierce is a total ladies' man. All the kids his age in the neighborhood are girls! He took little Valentine's to a few of them and they reciprocated the gesture. Here he is with Hannah....

and playing it cool with Emmi...(one of my favorite pictures ever).

For dinner we had heart pizza! The kids' dream come true.

Our cute neighbors brought us darling cookies for dessert and Mike grabbed fancy cupcakes to celebrate the special day.

Parker had a "Build your own Business" day in his classroom and he decided to make and sell 52 Harry Potter wands! It was a family project! On the upside he made the second most money in his classroom after his friend who sold cotton candy made from Jolly Ranchers. Not bad!

February was a busy month! Jace had a huge book report due and we worked so hard! He did it on Number the Stars and it turned out so great. We usually hate stuff like this, but it was pretty fun!
