The Card

I love Christmas Cards. Maybe too much. Honestly, in December, I skip to the mailbox and can't wait to tear open the cards. My kids are starting to love it too. In fact, if someone we know doesn't send us one, they don't understand...I had to explain that not everyone sends cards, it doesn't mean they don't remember us :).

We sent ours out early this year, so it could double as a birth announcement and kind of had a Thanksgiving feel. We took the family photos when Pierce was 5 weeks and Janel did a great job working with us. There are lots more cute shots to come in another post. For such a crazy fall, it wasn't bad :)

When the cards come, I tape them up to our wall like wall paper (there are some bonuses to living in a rental and having no shame).  The day we take them down is so sad...I can barely stand to throw all the cute pictures away...I feel like I should save them somewhere. I am positive that we have the best looking friends with the cutest kids in the most darling outfits with the best photographers around. You were all positively beautiful and we were so happy to have a tiny glimpse into your lives. Thank you, thank you for sending us your sweet Christmas wishes. It certainly warms up our holiday and keeps us feeling close, even if it is just once a year!

I loved your card! I was our first and a favorite.
I am weird....I save all my cards and have since I first got married. 10 years of Christmas cards in a book! It is so fun to look at every year.

i was going to say too, i know people that cut then down and put them in an a album, then every year they take them out and look at them as a family, and see how their friends and family have grown!

You had such a beautiful family portrait. I have cards and cards that I've kept over the years: birth announcements, xmas cards, wedding invites...have you seen all those ideas on Pinterest to display them or keep them organized? I need to make it a project one day.

Fat and happy babies are the greatest! What more can you ask for?
