The 24th of July St. George Style

With Mike in Haiti and a Utah holiday on July 24th, we decided to head to St. George with my parents to celebrate the holiday and enjoy the long weekend. We were worried about scorching temps, but it turned out to be the most beautiful few days! We packed in a lot of fun, as always!

On the 24th of July we ventured over to Ivins for a hometown 24th. They had a tiny parade that gave the kids candy for a healthy breakfast, a redneck water slide that was way too fun, bow and arrows from grammy, carnival games, bull riding, and the coolest part...potato derby races, which everyone LOVED! We spent hours there enjoying the music and the festive feel of the day. I love that my family is always up for a good time ;).

The boys opted out of seeing fireworks, so we did some sparklers around the fire pit instead.

Of course lots and lots of swimming and game playing poolside...

One of the highlights was taking the boys to The Little Mermaid and Tuachan...until Luke threw up, then it was also a low light, but the play was awesome and we all loved it!

To mix things up and take a break from the heat, we headed into the mountains just about 45 minutes away. It was gorgeous up there and such a fun change of pace...if you can believe it, it actually got chilly when a storm moved in! A great little detour!

We ended the trip watching a movie together in the theater. These two totally kill me. Such cute cousin buddies! Another great trip to St. George!
