Friends, Fun, and Family and the Fourth!

BYU

In a effort to help our kids understand how much they WANT to go to BYU when they grow up, we like to take them to campus every now and then and show them how amazing it is. They were actually pretty impressed (I think it was the chocolate covered gummy bears and the Creamery, but we'll take it!)

Don't they look like they fit right in? The desks coming out of the chairs were super cool.

The school has some cool things for the kids to see, including really great sport exhibits and some experiments at the science building. They had a fun time.
LAGOON
We were having too much fun to take very many pictures, but our great friends, the Paynes, came down from Idaho to see us and we headed to Lagoon. It was a blast. Poor me, I couldn't ride any rides (and I love them) and poor Parker and James, too short for many of the crazy coasters they wanted a chance on, but still a super fun day!
I'm often shocked by how brave all my boys are. It's awesome!

Parker was only about 1/2 inch short for everything, so we stuffed some napkins in his shoes and he was able to go on some pretty daring stuff. Growing at leas 1/2 inch next year is his goal so he can ride all the rides at Lagoon. Hopefully it will make him more interested in eating!

4th of July
What a delightful 4th of July we had this year! The weather was perfect up in Kamas/Oakley and we enjoyed every second of the patriotic holiday that we spent with the Gines family. They were so gracious to let us celebrate all day with them. Some of the highlights:

Horse riding!
Who knew my kids could turn out to love animals so much? They LOVED riding the horses and can't wait to do it again.

Ice Cream!
You can't spend the day in Kamas without eating ice cream, so of course we stopped for some!
Kids Rodeo!
It's always so fun to watch the kids ride the sheep, catch the chickens and collect half dollars. We spent all afternoon watching and participating in the fun.

Parade!
The day started with the cute little parade. My boys LOVED collecting all the candy!

Friends!
Why, oh why have I not taken more pictures with all the fantastic friends we've been able to see and reconnect with since we've been here? It's been so fun to be able to have even a short afternoon with such fantastic people. I love you all!

James and Ethan Malone. They were best buddies in Arizona before we left.
Ft. Collins, Colorado
Mike and I were lucky enough to spend a very short weekend in Ft. Collins for some job related stuff. My parents and sister kindly took the kids while we had a few days to relax, unwind and catch up. We loved being in Ft. Collins...it was such a charming yet outdoorsy town. The food was incredible...in fact, I wanted to stay a few more days just to eat at all the darling cafes. It was a great 2 day trip. Something about having a few minutes with your husband alone is totally NOT over-rated! Love you babe.

So fun to do lagoon with the Paynes! So jealous! We did stink at the taking of pictures. I'm still in trouble over the lack of pictures of you.

I hope your absence of blogging means that your summer is busy and full of other things, and not that something is wrong! I hope your pregancy is going well...your due date is coming soon, isn't it?
