Old story and 2 new ones:
1. When we were in California over Thanksgiving, it was early morning, we were stopped at a gas station. Mike was getting gas and I was in the car with the boys. A song I loved came on and I was rocking out with my air guitar in the front seat. When I stopped I looked out the window and 3 guys were watching me and dying of laughter. I died, waved, and got in the backseat.
2. The other day was a medium kind of day, when Beyonce's song came on. Well, I always dance in the car if a good song is on, and my boys have learned to do the same. I look in my rearview mirror, Parker is shakin it and singing at the top of his cute 3 year old voice: "All the single ladies, all the single ladies" "If you like it, then you should have put a ring on it!" I love moments like that.
3. I was picking up carpool at Jace's school and the song, "Just Dance came on." I was trying to keep my movements low key since I was in a pick up line, but I guess I wasn't doing a great job at it because when Jace got in the car he said, "Mom, you are so embarassing." Oh, he has lots more of those moments coming up!

that is so funny he was embarresed. sometimes you just have to dance when those songs come on!
That's so funny! I can totally picture it - I still remember you running through dances at our biology table in Mr. Hunter's class using mostly just your hands. Too funny! My daughter is actually the one always trying to get me to dance more while we drive, but there's only so much I can do and not crash. She's a girl after your own heart!
Somewhere between us there was a generation gap....i'm not much of a car dancer, but a great in the car head banger or as Seth says Head shaker!!!
That is too funny-but how could he be embarrassed by your rockin' moves? And I am dying laughing at James..and the fanny pack-they sell those things still???!!! Your family is just too cute.
I am so glad that I am not the only one! I totally love both those songs and the girls and I jam out in the car with the poor people around us staring! Love it!
So funny. Love these stories. I wonder when Savannah will start being embarassed of me- I know there will be many moments! And James and his fanny packs are so cute. I meant what I said though- is there anything more practical? I don't think so. James is definitely on to something!
Love it! I SO do that too. I know that everyone at the stop lights are laughing, but you know what? If I can make someone laugh, even at my expense, I'm in! Music and jivin' just makes me feel so good!!!! Especially in the car. Be careful with the air guitar though... my sister actually threw her back out while jamming to ACDC. Since then, I always air guitar with caution : D

Your a way cool mom, no need for Jace to be embaressed! So funny!
We love a good car jam too. and i don't know if it is good or bad that both my kids know words to the "hip" songs. I do have to say though that when American Regets song "give me hell" comes on - at the first notes both kids say - change it mom it is the naughty song!! i would love to be pulling up next to you at a stop light. we could air jam together
Too funny! I love these stories! I also love the fanny pack post, I should have saved my florescent ones, too see if he could have brought those back in style too (if they ever were even in style?). Love ya, Amanda
