The best part about living away is

VISITORS! We love to have people come see and stay with us, so when my parents called from smoke saturated San Diego to tell us they were coming, we were elated. We had an action-packed 1 1/2 days with them where the fun never stopped.
Jace requested that Grammy sleep in his bed, so she did (she's crazy!) and that morning at 5:55, the troops were wide awake and ready to play. By 7 they were outside practicing baseball with Grandpa, and didn't come in until the bat broke. We went to visit some model homes, then came back to the house where Grandma and the boys made a haunted gingerbread house and consumed pounds of sugar. After school and naps, we headed to Schnepf Farms, but it wasn't open on Wednesdays (I'm such a good planner!)
We decided to take option 2 and went to Freestone Park where we fed ducks, watched kids in the batting cages, played at the park, and practiced soccer in the dark. We fed hungry tummies at Barro's Pizza then stuffed ourselves with Gelato. Everyone went to bed late, getting as many mintes as possible in with the grandparents. They wouldn't even let us put them too bed--only grandma(shucks!)
The next moring there was more baseball, frisbee, soccer and playground...then it was time for them to leave. It was much too fast and would have been really sad if they weren't coming right back to celebrate Thanksgiving in the sun!

Lucky you. I love when visitors come too because it turns normally routine days into adventures. You and Kelli were my last visitors and that was an adventure I'll always remember! By the way, your wish has been granted...the recipes are entered!

Really, the best thing about living away (at least in Arizona) is the weather. Do you realize your kids are wearing short sleeves in all these pictures?

Your parents are the cutest granparents even if they look way too young to have grandkids.

How fun, Brooke! Yes- I loved living in AZ because it seemed like we had our parents visit so much- easy trip from CA or WA! Now it is much more difficult and I miss that. Looks like you guys had a blast. The boys are growing so quickly! So cute!

The best part about living away is that you get to see your favorite brother next week. I am sure that you are thrilled, but I am sorry to say that I wont be bringing a female counterpart with me. I know that we will have to find something else to talk about, but I think we can do it. See you next week.
