Father's Day
We love Mike, so we really love celebrating him on Father's Day. We worked all weekend to make sure it was special. He will forever get a candy bar poster...it is the boys' very favorite thing to do for him. They always tell me to make sure their wives and kids do it for them when they are dads. We made him a delicious breakfast, trying to incorporate as many of his requests as possible.
The boys wrote him really sweet cards this year.
We got him a new camping, or sports sitting chair and his big present was a chance to drive race cars, something he has always wanted to do.
They were all so excited to pose with these nasty teeth :).
We had my family over for dinner that night. It was so fun to have Gummy and Gumpy join us.
It was the perfect evening to celebrate the dads with great food, happy kids and perfect weather. Sure love my dad too!
Piercey is my little garden buddy. He loves working on flowers with me and pulling weeds. Every now and then, he decides to pull a flower too...but he always wants to give it to me, so I don't mind.
Our family got to go to a Bees game with Jace's team. It had been a long day of work, so it felt good to kick back at the ball park. Everyone had a blast!
The big boys were hilarious and yelled, cheered and sang through the whole game. Love that my kids aren't afraid to have a good time, even when it makes them look a little silly. Their cheering helped the Bees come back and win!
They got to run the bases at the end of the game. Pretty cool.
While looking for photos, my mom found this gem. Pretty awesome.
For James' baseball tournament in Park City, we decided to grab a hotel and stay the night. The boys are always so cute about getting to do things like that. They are super grateful and think all hotels, even really average Best Westerns are awesome.
The Bandits had The greatest first day, beating two really great teams and playing super hard. James was back and hit well.
That night, we went out to dinner on Park City's Main Street, which the kids thought was fabulous. And enjoyed some chocolate from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory.
Then headed back to swim for a few minutes before the pool closed. They were so cute with each other the entire time. I love that they are such awesome siblings to each other.
The tournament ended in a bust. The whole team fell apart for our last two games...it was so sad and a little painful to watch...we for sure thought we would be moving on. On the bright side, these boys are so cute and we love the families on the team. They are only 8, so there is lots of room for growth.
We came home from the tournament on July 3, but didn't have any 4th plans because we were hoping to be playing baseball. With most of our family gone and friends who had plans, we kept it very low key...just the 6 of us enjoying the day off together. We headed up to the parade, which was hot and full of candy. We swear we will be late next year.
We then thoroughly enjoyed the water parade!
Spent the hot afternoon eating BBQ (Mike made some delicious recipes), homemade ice cream, and playing in the kiddie pools.
We watched a movie before heading to fireworks, the walked across the street for a better view. It was a low-key and easy holiday that we loved spending together.
