Memorial Day always feels like the official start of summer, especially when the weather cooperates as it did again this year. We headed to Independence Lake with lots of good friends to enjoy the splash pad, lake, sand, and open space. This year we came prepared with shade, food, balls, cold water and towels and had a great time.
Memorial Day has to include watermelon. Pierce tried it for the first time and was crazy about it. I guess he really is a Romney.

And one super darling baby who just learned to crawl!! He is the sweetest, cutest, most smiley baby. Even with only two 15 minute naps he hung with us at the lake the entire day, happily exploring the blanket, grass and various beach bags in the shade. Honestly, he's a dream come true, even without a nap!
