March Catch Up

We were away for spring break, then my computer was in the shop, so I have A LOT to catch up on! Here is a quick recap of March:

FUTSAL:
All 3 boys played futsal (basically indoor soccer) and Jace played in a basketball league. Our Saturdays were packed with 4 games each day but it was a lot of fun. I slacked on picture taking, but it here are a few. It was fun to watch them improve each game and find things they are good at and enjoy.
Mike was Parker's coach and he was AWESOME. He started with a team full of kids who had never played and by the end of the season, they were doing really well and had learned so much. He knows how to teach fundamentals that in turn lead to great players. Parker loved having his dad as the coach, in fact it was one of the highlights of his year. Wish he could coach more teams for the boys!

HERITAGE NIGHT: I've said it before, but one of the things we love most about Ann Arbor is the quality of diversity here. My boys have friends from all over the world with incredibly interesting names who speak all different languages in the home (26 first languages at their school!), but they are all smart, educated, kind and respectful with involved and engaging parents. Heritage night at their school is seriously impressive with food from every corner of the globe and lots of it, and authentic costumes from each of those countries. Each grade sang a song in a different language and the students were so excited about everything. We feel very blessed to be a part of such a great city and feel exceptionally boring as we check the white/Caucasian box!

PINEWOOD DERBY: I wish I had better pictures, but the derby this year was a blast. Jace moved up the ranks to 4th place overall and it was fun to see Mike and Jace really get into it this year. Before each race Jace would look at me with a nervous grin and when he won any race he was SO excited but tried to play it cool. It's always a fun night for a family of boys!
