Mike had a birthday! It was during a super crazy time in the semester, so he had no time, but we tried to make it special with a great breakfast, treats to school, then I took him to dinner and it was nice to have a few minutes to breathe together. We love being able to get away, even if it's just for a few hours.
A few funny sayings:
Parker: Mom, every time you wear pants, do they just get a tiny bit smaller? Mom: What do you mean? Parker: Oh, no. That's not it. I'm growing!
Mom: So, James, who is your favorite girl in your class. James: None. I hate girls. Mom: You don't hate girls. If you had to pick one. James: None. Mom: What about when you get married, will you like them then? James: No. Mom: Will you hold their hand? James: No. Mom: Will you kiss them. James: No!
(I came downstairs dressed up for something in some wide leg pants with heels) James: Mom, you look cute. Mom: Thanks buddy. James: I hope when I'm old my mom wears pants like that. Mom: Your what? James: My mom. Mom: I'm always going to be your mom. James: No, I mean the mom I get married to. Mom: Oh, honey, that's your wife :)
(Around the dinner table last Sunday)
Mike: So, what did you guys learn in Primary. Jace: Oh, we learned about telling the truth and the prisoner's dilemma! (he goes onto diagram the prisoner's dilemma for us and tell us in depth about his lesson). Mom: Parker and James what did you guys learn? (they are in the same class) Both: We can't remember anything. Mike: Nothing? Mom: Okay, no dessert until you think of something. Parker: Oh! I know. Back when Jesus was alive, they would dig a hole in the ground and everyone would go to the bathroom in it. James: Yeah, and you can use any kind of animal poop once it is dry to make a fire. Leave it to 5 and 6 year old boys to walk away with the most spiritually important lesson :)!

oh man, your boys crack me up. I seriously read most of this post to Jeff also. Thanks for the comic relief before bedtime tonight! :)
Love the things kids say!
That was funny!! Sounds like their primary lessons are far more interesting that the ones I hear about.
My fav was the mom/wife story. So sweet and hilarious. I am loving this time of life and it looks like you are too!
I love reading your blog! I love what kids get out of church!
