Tuesday
Last night I actually slept fairly well. It felt great. Today we visited the Petionville chapel and dropped off medical supplies with the doctor there since we're leaving tomorrow.
We visited Kenskoff with the meds that were with us since we knew they would absolutely love it. We want each of the medical personnel to experience the beauty of the country that escapes you in downtown PAP.
Tonight my heart was broken again. The cutest little girl you've ever seen came to see our neurologist. I served with her mother 12 years ago. She is 5 years old, same age as Parker, and she has seizures often due to sickle cell anemia. Saika had a stroke 2 years ago and if she were in the states she would have received the care she needs. It kills me to see kids suffer here because they don't have the means.
Tomorrow we make sure that all of our supplies get to the right people since we no longer have a second group coming down. These people are beautiful and this country is beautiful. Ayiti si telman bel.
Wednesday
Mike was supposed to leave Haiti last night and be on his way home today. Their trip was shortened because the Haitian government is taking back control of the airport after the weekend and those in charge are not sure what that will mean for food, water, and safety, plus their army unit is also leaving. Unfortunately, their plane couldn't land last night. They were all packed up and ready to go when they got the news in the late afternoon. So, they reset up camp and stayed another day. I'm still waiting to hear if they will be able to leave tonight. Right now, I'm not counting on anything, but cross your fingers! It would have been really fun to have him fly back home on his birthday! Thanks for all the love and support!

I hope you're hanging in there. Thank you for the updates. We're praying for your family along with all of Haiti.
I've read every single one ... sorry for the lack of comments, it's been a crazy couple of weeks (good crazy). I love hearing all Mike's stories and I'm so happy he was able to go. Very inspirational. Best thoughts and prayers coming his way for a safe journey home.
