This is what I want to do today

*Sleep in
*Hang out with Mike
*Read a book
*Take a long bath
*Read my scriptures
*Listen to silence

Here's what I really did and am doing:
*wake up with James in the middle of the night
*wake up at 6 am because my kids won't stop playing loudly, crying about something, or coming into our room to tattle, so I just give up after about 30 minutes of pretending to sleep
*make breakfast
*take the kids to the park so Mike can have a meeting at our house. Sit on the bench eventhough I know I should be playing with them, but I feel too grumpy. Finally push them on the swings a bit then go home after everyone is crying or whinig for a drink
*Watch Mike leave for 3 more hours of meetings
*loose it when everyone starts crying again about things that "almost" happened.
*Threaten to lock myself in my room (funny enough, a worse punishment than putting my kids in time out. They absolutely freak out if they can't see me, hear me or touch me
*Get showered and dressed, not like anything I have to wear right now; dire need of spring clothes that are not in the budget
*Iron 3 sets of boy church clothes
*Make lunch
*Bathe everyone
*Go to visit a ward conference
*Go to our church
*Make dinner for us and others
*Watch the kids while Mike hometeaches
*Who knows....

Do you ever have a day like this...nothing really wrong but just not a great mom day? I woke up in a funk and I'm trying to pull myself out. Just writing this has helped; maybe I just needed to vent.

What a day. You deserve a big huge break. Too bad Moms don't get breaks! I hope the kids go to bed early for you tonight and you can have some snuggle time with Mike. The only thing that should have been different about your day is that you should have made the Paynes dinner instead of whoever actually came over, or even better, the Paynes should have made you dinner!

You do deserve an All About Brooke Day. Hope you get one soon and that your Sunday got a little better ;-)

I hear ya! I know exactly what you are talking about.

Tomorrow will be better. :)

Oh and I like your punishment - lock yourself in the room! It's so true - they can't stand that!

We all have them... but it doesn't make them any easier! I also lock myself in my room for a 'mom timeout' and my kids freak too. Hope tomorrow is better...

Oh Brookie, what a day! I guess the good news is that it can only get better (hopefully?!)

i know exactly what you are talking about. i am jealous you are saying it was just a bad day today... b/c i am pretty sure i have at least one of those a week. Troy has to work a 30 hour shift the next 3 sundays in a row.... shoot me now. but on the upside i bet you and your kids looked fab and i hope you get an all about brooke day.... in hawaii ...soon :)

You are amazing! The both of you are getting double whammies with your guys callings! Don't let those days get to ya. I think that's hilarious about locking yourself in your room. I might try that with Cash and Macey. They probably would freak too!

Brooke--you totally restore my mommy faith every time i read your blog! it's why i visit the page in the first place. While it's not a happy time for you...it's calming for me to see that i am SO NOT ALONE (you know it happens to everyone...but to have someone put it in writing confirms it!)
