Last Wednesday was Jace's first day of school. I wanted to be sad and teary, but he was just so excited to start, how could I be sad? He has an awesome teacher and has loved it so far. He goes ALL day (not many other options here) and has really enjoyed it. After his first day, my mom asked him what he ate for lunch and he said, "Grandma, I can't remember, that was so long ago."
It's long for us too, but it's fun to see how the dynamics change when one sibling is away, and the boys are soooo excited to have him home everyday. We just love him so much and are so proud of his smooth transition!
As a side note, we NEVER wear socks and shoes; actually, we rarely even wear shoes, but his school requires shoes and socks everyday. Jace barely even owns socks, and the ones he owns are high socks beacuse he wears them in the winter; so on his first day he looked so cute until you came to the ankles. Don't worry, we got him some more presentable socks to wear on the second day of school! Good thing it's Kindergarten and not 7th grade!

HOW precious your kids are!
That's so funny that you mentioned the socks because I was looking at the shoes thinking how awesome they were, but was truthfully thrown a little by the socks! Please don't hate me for my petty sock thoughts...
That's got to be crazy to have him already in Kindergarten, but I'm sure I'll be there with mine before I know it!!! I don't know if I could handle full day!
Brooke! I've been such a slacker with blogging. I can't believe you went on a beautiful Alaskan cruise. You guys look darling- the pictures are beautiful. And congrats to you on your article- it was so well written and interesting.
Jace looks so cute on his way to school! The boys are just growing like crazy- all too adorable for words. Hope you are doing well! Miss you guys~~
Brooke,
Dru starts in a few weeks. She is excited like Jace, but I am SURE I will shed a few tears. I am actually tearing up right now! Being a mom is a roller coaster ride. I love it!
I love looking at your blog. What a great way to catch up!
How can a school in Arizona require socks??? That is so weird. He looks so handsome though, I love it.
So true with the socks- I hardly have any for my kids either! And I know what is up with only Full day kindergarten here in AZ - oh well I have one more year before I have to deal with that.
Jace looks so cute though- and glad he and you had a good start to the school year.
I was about to say exactly what Jennae said! Since when are socks a requirement? Is it some sly plan to get rid of flip flops at school? I've always thought socks were considered part of the "underwear" department. Do they check those too?!? Kidding... Jace looked adorable on his first day!
Sophie wants to say to Jace that we love him. Max wants to say to him "you're going to love kindergarten like I did". Cute cute cute boys you have.
I agree with everyone else about having to require socks in AZ, dumb. Jace is so cute though! All your boys are adorible.
socks in az? that doesn't seem right ;) we start on monday - i can't believe it!! we met when these boys were 1!!!!!!!!!!
He looks so happy! What a fun time for him!
So glad that he is doing well with the full day, that is a long day! Josh starts 1st grade on Tues, & I hope he does okay with a full day, I am worried about him being able to put a straw in a capri sun by himself & little things like that!
I can't believe he's in Kindergarten! And all day too! Wow. So strange! They all look so cute though!
Jenny Martin, like mother like daughter. I remember your mom sobbing as she dropped off Megan for first grade! I wondered what was wrong with me cause I was practically skipping to be dropping off Mitch, Jr!!!!
Way cute shoes!!!!!
Jace is adorable, socks and all! I am not suprised that he was excited! Hope that you are doing well.
