Is anyone else's Christmas station obsessed with playing Rod Stewart's version of this song? When did that become a Christmas tune? That's not what this post is about though. I wanted to share a few of my favorites, and some would make good gifts for others.
1. I found the perfect JEANS! As fun as it is to ALWAYS be pulling your pants up or wearing 5 layers in order to keep the top of my rear covered, I was done. I've been on the hunt for higher waisted, cute jeans that don't look like "mom" jeans, and I found them. They are the brand Kut, and you can find them at Nordstrom and Dillards. They ride just under my belly button and suck in the part of my stomach that will never leave. I love them. If you've had kiddos, they are a great pair to have. They are a little pricey ($85, but you can get them on sale) and come in a few different styles (flap pockets on the booty for me, since I don't have much junk in the trunk.) Truly they are worth every penny. Oh, the other good thing, my friend Lyric has some, our bodies are totally different and she looks great in them too! http://shop.nordstrom.com/SR?KeyWord=kut+jeans&searchorigin=KeywordSearch
2. I also found the perfect sweater. Since I really don't need a coat here, I wanted a yummy sweater I could wear to the park everyday, and I found it, at Target no less. I also grabbed a pair of their wide leg super soft jeans for $22, and I have to hem them, but they are great. Three cheers for target. http://www.target.com/Juniors-Mossimo-Supply-Cardigan-Sweater/dp/B000SDKN3I/sr=1-3/qid=1197668141/ref=sr_1_3/602-4929195-9111028?ie=UTF8&index=target&rh=k%3Ajuniors%20mossimo%20sweater&page=1

3. Love love love the Josh Groban Christmas CD. Every song is gorgeous.

4. The book A Thousand Splendid Suns. It is by the same guy who wrote the Kite Runner, but I like it even better. The writing is beautiful and the sotry is unforgettable. Truly the triumph of women in the midst of hatred. It moves quickly and when I finised the book I wanted to cry because I was not ready to say good bye to the characters. Give it a shot--you'll love it.

I love your favorite things. I've been looking for some jeans. Thanks for the tip. Hope you have a good Christmas!
I always love those kinds of posts. And I really need some jeans and I'm ready to spend money on them, cause the cheapies aren't cutting it. And I wish I could hem. And you probably look like that model in the sweater shot, except with brown hair. Lucky.
I am going to have to read that book. Fun list of things...thanks!
LOVE your family Christmas card, you guys all look Fabulous!! The letter, so cute to, you are one creative lady, I sure admire that!
I love the Josh Groben CD but I found an even better one. . . Olivia Newton-John--Christmas Wish. You can only get it at Target and it is absolutely beautiful. Great new songs and interludes of favorite carols. I've given quite a few away already.
Mom
P.S. The jeans look pretty good on your old mom too!
So Brooke, you don't know me; however, i met your husband through his cousin & then saw him occasionally our freshman year o' college:) so tell mike "hi" from beckie (shaw) parker...don't worry, we didn't date:) i actually liked James in high school! anyway, just wanted you to know that i appreciated your jean advice! i just couldn't drop $100 on sevens even @ Nord Rack, so I found your Kut style & they were only $25!! never mind that I bought a pair of Coach slip-ons to compensate for the deal-ugh! anyway happy new year!!
