With our move this year, we were excited to get some Utah family pictures and a good one for our Christmas card. We had everything planned out to head to the Great Salt Lake for a fun photo shoot and 15 minutes before we left, the clouds rolled in and it started pouring rain...and not the sprinkling Utah rain, but more like an east coast thunder storm. The weather said it would be lasting for hours. Add to that that a few minutes before we were supposed to be leaving, Pierce jumped off my bed and couldn't walk on his ankle. Yikes!
Now any mom of boys knows that getting everyone ready for a family picture is painful...no one wants to do them but you, and it takes a decent amount of bribery and healthy guilt to make sure they go well. So, when my photographer called and asked what we wanted to do, I told her that we were all ready and asked if she could come to our house and just get a few quick shots on the front porch.
So, she did and we were pleasantly surprised with how well they turned out. We didn't have a lot of options for backgrounds and spaces since we had to be covered from the downpour and our photographer had to hold her umbrella, so all things considered, we were very pleased with the results and the skies cleared for a few minutes at the very end! I especially love some of the single shots of my boys and really love shots of the 4 of them together! They are such cuties!
