She's a Saint

What kind of Grandma thinks it's a good idea to take 5 little and rowdy boys and spend the night with them in a hotel just for the fun of it? Either a saintly one or a crazy one, and since my mom reads my blog, we'll go with saintly :).

The boys looked forward all week to their "sleepover" with Grandma at a hotel. They all felt like the luckiest kids on the planet. Grandma got them all dinner from Applebee's and they ate it on the floor of their hotel room while they watched a movie.

After eating and watching, they headed to the pool and the hot tub and certainly made it unbearable for anyone else to swim, but they had the greatest time. And, my mom got in a swimsuit AND got in the water. 4th time in my life I can remember her getting in a pool or hot tub. Amazing what grandkids can get grandmas to do.

After swimming they headed back to the hotel room for chocolate chip cookies and a little Christmas advent calendar making. Jammies, prayers, and teeth brushing and everyone was ready for bed.

After a long night for grandma sharing a bed with at least 2 other boys and being awakened every couple hours, they headed out to the lobby for the grand finale...breakfast! The boys downed everything that looked delicious...lots of doughnuts and juice, waffles, some eggs and bacon and quite a few helpings of sugar cereal.

They all returned home smelling of syrup with impish smiles on their faces...like they'd all just shared in a really great secret together. And the adults all got a really great night's sleep. Thank you grandma for being so, so fun! We love you!
