The Chain has begun!

Each year we make a Christmas Chain as a family. On it we include everything we want to do as a family during December. The kids LOVE it and so do I! It keeps us feeling the Christmas spirit all month long and we don't forget to do the fun "little" things because we're too busy with the hustle and bustle. We include all the necessary items, church parties, etc. and add in our fun little things and traditions we love. We put each item on a paper Chain and take one off each day.

This year we included the following:

0. Eat pomegranates

1. Wrap birthday boxes for orphans

2. Decorate house for Christmas

3. Decorate tree for Christmas

4. Shop for Sub for Santa

5. Deliver gifts for sub for santa

6. Stamp Christmas cards

7. Go to the library and pick out Christmas books

8. Drink hot chocolate with peppermint and candy canes

9. Go to dad's Christmas party

10. Church Christmas party

11. Have a indoor snowball fight with large marshmallows

12. Mail letters to grandparents

13. Have a Christmas song dance party

14. Have a family over to learn about their Christmas traditions

15. Bake Christmas goodies

16. Deliver Christmas goodies

17. Make presents and letters for teachers

18. Look at Christmas lights

19. Have a Shepherds night

20. Visit Santa at the mall

21. Buy presents for each other at the dollar store

22. Go to downtown Plymouth and see the gingerbread houses

23. Watch a Christmas movie--Try SantaPaws...seems cheesy, but so so cute. Just perfect for young kids and Christmas time. Not even bad for adults.

24. Perform the nativity and share Christmas stories

25. Christmas!!!

Here are some pictures of our marshmallow fight in our basement. Big success...in fact, we might have to do it again.

And our peppermint hot chocolate. We loved it with the Andes peppermint pieces.
Stamping Christmas cards. What a fiasco. Hope you got one!
These crazy boys play football every day after school. This particular day it was 22 degrees outside. They really loved the hot chocolate!
Our whole family adores eating pomegranates. Oh how I wish they weren't so messy!
Yeah for a full and fun Christmas!

what a fabulous tradition and great ideas for the month. Thanks for sharing - you gave me some new ones that I might have to include in the next couple of weeks (love the marshmallow/snowball fight)! Merry Christmas.
