The fall soccer season is over and it was a huge success. I don't think we won any games (Maybe one, we don't keep score yet), but it didn't matter because the kids all adored coach Mike and had a great experience playing. Jace was super fast and always pumped up for the games--loved dribbling the ball down the field but got a little gun shy when it came to making goals. The best thing about 4 year old soccer is that there are so many kids crying on the sidelines on both teams. You would think the parents are feeding them to the sharks or that maybe the kid shouldn't play, but then the next game they can't wait to play. I was so proud of Mike for his kindness and patience; his huge competitve streak almost never surfaced. It was so fun, we are playing again this January.
The best part of soccer season, according to the kiddos, was the team party at Peter Piper Pizza. That place is truly heaven on earth for 4 year old boys and girls and an germ propelled anxiety attack for parents. Jace has decided to celebrate his birthday there, and I can't wait!

How fun! I love everything about younger kids sports; not keeping score, everyone gets the same amount of playing time. I am a little nervous for when they get older if Nolan is still coaching for the angry parents! Your husband seems like he would be such a fun coach.
Peter Piper Pizza?!? What a walk down memory lane. Now I'm gonna have their little jingle stuck in my head all day!
